Uber Credits

How to redeem and maximize your credit card Uber credits.

Benefit terms and availability may vary. Always verify details with your card issuer before redeeming. Information shown may not reflect recent changes to your card's benefits.

What is the Uber Credit

Many premium credit cards offer monthly Uber credits as part of their benefits package. These credits appear as Uber Cash in your Uber account and can be applied to rides and Uber Eats orders. Monthly credits typically range from $10-$35 depending on your card.

What Counts

Uber credits can be applied to:

  • All Uber ride types (UberX, Uber Black, Uber Comfort, etc.)
  • Uber Eats food delivery orders
  • Uber Reserve scheduled rides
  • Tips count toward usage (credits apply to full bill)
  • Service fees and taxes
  • Multiple orders in one month (credits stack until depleted)

What Doesn't Count

  • Uber gift cards purchased in-app
  • Uber for Business rides (must use personal account)
  • Orders placed through third-party integrations
  • Credits cannot be transferred between accounts
  • Credits cannot be converted to cash

When It Resets

Credits typically refresh on the 1st of each month. The reset time is usually midnight PT.

⚠️ Use it or lose it: Monthly Uber credits do NOT roll over. If you have $15 remaining on January 31st, it disappears on February 1st when your new credits load.

Some cards offer bonus credits in December (e.g., Amex Platinum offers extra dining credits). Check your card's specific terms.

Tips for Maximizing

Setup

  • Add your eligible card to Uber as a payment method
  • Set it as your default payment to auto-apply credits
  • Some cards require enrollment through the issuer portal first

Usage Strategy

  • Use smaller orders throughout the month rather than one big order
  • Combine with Uber promotions and discounts (they stack)
  • Check your Uber Cash balance before month end
  • Schedule Uber Eats orders for end-of-month if credits remain

Tracking

  • Check Uber Cash balance in the Uber app under Wallet
  • Set a calendar reminder for the 25th to use remaining credits
  • Credits appear as "Uber Cash" not statement credits

Common Gotchas

  • Credits don't roll over—use them each month or lose them
  • Must add your card to Uber (credits won't appear automatically for some issuers)
  • Some cards require enrollment in the issuer's benefits portal
  • Credits only work in US (international rides may not be covered)
  • If credits aren't appearing, verify enrollment and wait 24-48 hours
  • Business accounts are typically not eligible
