The Bilt Rewards 2.0 Lineup
Bilt Rewards launched its 2.0 card lineup in February 2026, replacing the original Wells Fargo-issued Bilt Mastercard. The new cards are issued by Column N.A. and serviced by Cardless Inc. All three tiers earn points on rent with no transaction fees.
Bilt Blue Card — $0 Annual Fee
- 1x points on all purchases including rent
- No annual fee, no transaction fees on rent
- Optional Bilt Cash: 4% back on everyday purchases with Flexible Bilt Cash
- Best for: renters who want free points on rent
Bilt Obsidian Card — $95 Annual Fee
- 3x points on dining OR groceries (annual selection, uncapped dining / $25K/year grocery cap)
- 2x points on travel
- 1x points on rent and all other purchases
- $100/year hotel credit ($50 per half-year via Bilt Travel)
- Optional Bilt Cash: 4% back on everyday purchases with Flexible Bilt Cash
- Best for: renters who spend heavily on dining or groceries
Bilt Palladium Card — $495 Annual Fee
- 2x points on all everyday purchases (excluding rent)
- 1x points on rent
- $400/year hotel credit ($200 per half-year via Bilt Travel)
- $200/year Bilt Cash credit (deposited at start of calendar year)
- Priority Pass lounge access (1,400+ lounges, cardholder + 2 guests)
- Optional Bilt Cash: 4% back on everyday purchases with Flexible Bilt Cash
- Best for: frequent travelers and high-spend renters
Obsidian Bonus Category Selection
The Bilt Obsidian's biggest complexity: you must choose ONE bonus category per year — dining (3x, uncapped) or groceries (3x, up to $25,000/year). The decision is annual and cannot be changed mid-year.
- Choose diningif you spend more than $3,167/year (~$264/month) on restaurants — you'll outperform the grocery option at any spend level above that
- Choose groceries if you spend heavily at supermarkets and your dining is lower (common for families). The $25K/year cap is effectively $2,083/month — very generous for most households
All other non-travel purchases on Obsidian earn 1x regardless of which category you select. Travel always earns 2x.
Earning Points on Rent
Bilt is the only card program that earns points on rent payments with no added transaction fees. To earn points on rent:
- Pay rent through the Bilt app, a Bilt-enrolled property portal, or BillPay
- BillPay supports third-party portals, Venmo, PayPal, and mailed checks
- Housing payments do not use your card credit line; Bilt debits your linked bank account
- Housing-only rewards can earn up to 1.25x based on your everyday spending ratio
- Flexible Bilt Cash can redeem Bilt Cash to unlock up to 1x points on housing
Bilt Cash (Optional 4% Back)
All Bilt 2.0 cardholders can opt into Flexible Bilt Cash to earn 4% back in Bilt Cash on eligible everyday purchases, in addition to each card's normal points earnings. If you choose Housing-only rewards instead, you do not earn 4% Bilt Cash on everyday spend; you earn points on housing payments automatically, up to 1.25x, based on everyday spending. Bilt Cash is separate from Bilt Points and expires December 31 each calendar year. Up to $100 in unused Bilt Cash rolls over annually.
The Bilt Palladium also deposits $200 in Bilt Cash at the start of each calendar year, effectively offsetting $200 of the $495 annual fee immediately.
Bilt Travel Hotel Credits
Hotel credits are among the easiest Bilt benefits to capture, but require planning:
How credits work
- Credits are issued semi-annually (Jan–Jun, Jul–Dec)
- Credits must be used through the Bilt Travel booking portal
- Minimum two-night stay required
- Credits expire at the end of each half-year period — they do not roll over
Credit amounts by card
- Bilt Obsidian: $50/half ($100/year)
- Bilt Palladium: $200/half ($400/year)
- Bilt Blue: No hotel credit
kardfolio tracks these as semi-annual benefits so you'll get reminders before each half-year deadline.
Bilt Points Transfer Partners
Bilt Points transfer to airline and hotel partners across all three cards. Most partners transfer 1:1; Accor Live Limitless transfers at 3:2. Partners can change over time, so confirm availability in the Bilt app before moving points.

Is Bilt Rewards Worth It?
Bilt Blue ($0 fee) — Easy yes
If you pay rent, the Bilt Blue is compelling. No annual fee, no transaction fees on housing payments through Bilt, and your choice between Housing-only rewards or Flexible Bilt Cash. The tradeoff is using Bilt's payment flow and tracking which rewards option is active.
Bilt Obsidian ($95 fee) — Good for active earners
Offset the $95 fee with the $100/year hotel credit alone (if you stay at hotels twice per year through Bilt Travel). Add 3x on your chosen bonus category and 2x on travel, and the card clearly justifies itself for anyone spending $200+/month on dining or groceries.
Bilt Palladium ($495 fee) — Requires full credit utilization
The Palladium math at face value: $200 Bilt Cash credit + $400 hotel credit = $600 in credits vs. a $495 fee — net positive if you use both. Add Priority Pass lounge access and 2x on all spending, and it works for frequent travelers. The key: both hotel credits require booking through Bilt Travel, and unused Bilt Cash expires at year end except for the annual rollover allowance.
